As a gardener I pull any dandelion that pokes up its head. However there are positive elements to dandelions (tho not to my knowledge to dandelion seed). Dandelion as a herb is one of the first plants up in the spring and thus is an extremely valuable "pot herb". During a long, dark northern winter people were starved for vitamin C,and were at risk of scurvy (or were suffering from it). Dandelions provided a great source of Vit C very early in the season, and thus is an extremely welcome herb, however annoying the plant is later in the year.
