Thank you. I was hoping you'd comment. Given the dates and the type of school, that probably means, if not the Warwick edition, one of the editions that were especially heavily bowdlerized for use in girls' schools. It might be worth my digging a little deeper at some point, just to make sure that the note doesn't exist. (Though I am sceptical about it - nearly as sceptical as I am about the 'farmer'.)
